Thanks Meg. That was such an important lesson for me. I'll never forget the mortification when (well over 10 years ago) I unintentionally said something that I now know to be massively trans-exclusionary, but more importantly the grace with which people called me in to learn more. Discomfort is often a sign that we are growing.
Thanks Trevor, it felt good to hit that publish button again! That sounds a lot like the kind of freedom I'm yearning for... maybe less doing what I want, and more doing what I need to, but I guess that's a step on the way to doing what I want- right?!🤷🏾♀️
I think you still have to get the balance right at times, sometimes it does have to tilt towards doing what you need to but also you have to re-set it back sometimes, but maybe that's just me!
For sure! Sorry, I was a little cryptic without realising. I'm chasing the ability to do the things I need to support my wellbeing whilst attending to my responsibilities too. In the chase I've realised that balance is a dynamic process rather than a destination.
Love this (commented before but my Substack account(s) are all tangled up so it got deleted! “Be prepared to be wrong” is the best advice

Good to have you back Emma!
Freedom to me I guess is being able to do what I want and feel happy knowing that, quite simple I guess!
